As many cooks are already convinced, pies can be made from almost any ingredients. The main thing is to know how to do it correctly. There are recipes for carrot, pumpkin baking, from oatmeal, rye and rice. However, one of the most popular pies remains mannik. It is prepared from semolina groats. If you previously thought that the groats are used only for cooking porridge, you were very wrong. semolina
is a universal product from which you can mold cutlets, cook pies and even make a filling for cakes. Most often semolina is combined with milk. Even in cutlets, semolina, as a rule, is soaked in milk.
Let’s prepare a mannikin at home with our own hands.
Ingredients for mannikin:
- flour – 280 g;
- semolina – 250 g;
- sugar – 250 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- vanilla – a pinch;
- leavening agent – 2 tsp;
- vegetable oil – 125 ml;
- milk – 250 ml;
- egg – pcs.
Ingredients for the filling:
- sour cream 20% – 300 g;
- sugar – 2 tbsp.
Preparation of mannikin:
In a bowl, mix flour with baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, vanilla and semolina.
Break an egg into the loose products, pour in milk and vegetable oil.
Knead a thick dough for the pie

Pour the dough into a baking dish with a diameter of 23-26 cm.
Bake the mannikin at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
For the filling mix sour cream with sugar. After baking pour the filling on top of the pie, leave the mannikin in the oven for a minute.
You can sprinkle the mannikin with chocolate shavings for decoration. Before tasting, leave the pie to cool for a couple of hours.
