If you’ve been to Georgian restaurants or you’ve managed to try Georgian cuisine at home, you’re probably familiar with khachapuri. Khachapuri is a national Georgian dish that is popular for its variety and flavor range. Despite this, it is hearty and inexpensive, and easy to prepare.
Today we will make flatbreads, which are also remotely close to khachapuri. Try and appreciate how easy and simple this recipe is.
Ingredients for flatbreads:
- kefir – 200 ml;
- baking soda – 0.5 tsp;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- salt – tsp;
- vegetable oil – tbsp;
- milk – 200 ml;
- flour – 200 gr;
- green onions;
- cheese – 100 g.
Preparation of tortillas:
In a deep bowl pour 200 ml of kefir and 0,5 teaspoon of baking soda. Stir with a whisk, pour in salt. Break two chicken eggs and pour in vegetable oil. Stir with a whisk
. Add milk and flour. Use the whisk again. Then finely chop the green onion, send it to the rest of the ingredients. Grate cheese on a coarse grater. Mix everything until homogeneous.
Fill the frying pan with vegetable oil. On top of it we put a part of the resulting mass, using a spoon to make the layer more even. Cover the skillet with a lid and fry on both sides for a minute and a half. You should get a ruddy crust.
From all the ingredients we have four large tortillas.
