Potato is a vegetable rich in starch. Some nutritionists mistakenly consider potatoes to be a useless vegetable. You can hear arguments that potatoes are a source of harmful substances that can not benefit a person.

Let’s prepare a warm, hearty casserole from potatoes

Ingredients for potato casserole:
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Tomato – 1 pc;
- Sweet pepper – 1/2 pc;
- Boiled chicken fillet – 3 pcs;
- Garlic – 2 cloves;
- Tomato paste – 300 g;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Oregano – 1 tsp;
- Paprika – 1 tsp;
- Cream cheese – 100 g;
- Potatoes – 1 kg;
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Cream – 200 ml;
- Cream cheese – 300 g;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Cheese – 150 g.
Preparation of potato casserole:
Cut a small diced onion, fry in a frying pan with hot vegetable oil for a couple of minutes. Similarly, you should cut the tomato, fry with onions for 2 minutes.
Peel from the insides of the sweet pepper, cut into small pieces. Add the pepper to the tomato and onion, fry for 3 minutes.
Divide the boiled chicken fillet into fibers
. Put the meat in the pan to the vegetables and fry for 5 minutes. Chop garlic finely, add to meat and vegetables, fry for a minute.
Add tomato paste, salt, oregano, paprika and cream cheese to the meat and stir. Saute the ingredients for 3 minutes.
Peel potatoes, cut into small round plates. Put the potatoes in a pot with salted water, cook after boiling for 10 minutes.
To prepare the sauce, combine cream and cream cheese, salt. Put ¼ of the sauce into the baking mold, spread it on the bottom. Overlap ⅓ of the potatoes on this layer.
Place ½ of the meat filling on top of the potato layer, smear ⅓ of the sauce over it. On the top also lay out potato plates – ½ part.
In this way collect layers of potatoes, meat stuffing and sauce. Make the top layer with potatoes, pour the sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake the dish in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
