Lavash is considered to be an unleavened flatbread made of wheat flour. This flatbread is widespread as a bakery product among the inhabitants of the Caucasus, the Balkans and the Middle East.
Many traditions and customs of different Eastern peoples are connected with lavash.
Lavash is also widespread in Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia
.
A large number of interesting dishes are created from this flatbread. For example, we know shawarma
. But, in addition to shawarma, you can make a roll with minced meat from lavash.
Ingredients for pita roll with minced meat:
- Pita – 2 sheets;
- Cheese – 250 g;
- Stuffing – 300 g;
- Egg – pcs;
- Salt – ½ tsp;
- Butter – 100 g.
Preparation of pita roll with minced meat:
Grate cheese on a coarse grater. In a separate bowl mix minced meat with salt, beat an egg to it and mix thoroughly.
Melt butter, use it to grease the surface of the pita
.
Sprinkle the pita with cheese, spread it evenly.
Cover the cheese layer with a second pita, brush it with butter. Put minced meat on the pita, spread evenly on the top.
Twist the pita into a roll, put it on a baking tray lined with parchment. Grease the roll with a mixture of egg yolk and milk. Bake the roll in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
Then again grease the roll with the yolk mixture, sprinkle the top with cheese and sesame seeds to taste.
Send it back to the oven for 15 minutes.
If desired, you can chop herbs and sprinkle it on the top layer of the future roll, i.e. minced meat.
