Chebureks are one of the most popular dishes in the world. Therefore, there are many legends and myths about chebureks all the time. But, you should not consider all the information about chebureks to be true. In fact, many facts were invented in the 1990s, when chebureks were relevant everywhere. They were sold at train stations and markets. Every time the sellers made up tall tales to scare customers and give bad publicity to their competitors.
In fact, chebureks are safe for the body. And if you make vegetable versions of chebureks, they will even be useful. For example, pumpkin cheburek.
Ingredients for pumpkin cheburek:
- Boiling water – 200 ml;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Flour – 350 g;
- Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp;
- Onion – 2 pcs;
- Pumpkin – 350 g.
Preparation of pumpkin cheburek:
In a bowl with boiling water pour salt and flour, knead a slightly sticky and soft dough with a spatula. When the dough has cooled, continue kneading with your hands. Cover the dough with cellophane and leave it for 20 minutes.
Dice the onion and fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil until golden. Peel the pumpkin from seeds and crust, grate it on a coarse grater
. Put the pumpkin to the onion, salt to taste and fry for a couple of minutes. Then cool the pumpkin mixture.
Divide the dough into two parts, roll each part into a thin sausage. Divide each sausage into 10 parts and form rolls. Using a rolling pin, make thin tortillas out of the rolls.
Place the filling on one half of the tortillas, cover with the other half of the dough and seal the edges.
Place the tortillas on a dry frying pan and fry on both sides until browned.
It remains only to grease the finished chebureks with melted butter. You will get thin and tender vegetable pumpkin chebureks.
