How often do you cook borscht? As a rule, at least once a month the family cooks borscht. This is a traditional dish for Slavic peoples, which has become incredibly popular all over the world.
Borscht refers to winter soups, since it is served in hot form. He is able to give a person the necessary vitamins for the cold period. It takes
a long time to prepare borscht, if you take into account the time to clean the beets. To save yourself from the dirt and juice of beets, you can make a pre-preparation.
Ingredients for beet preparations:
- Boiled beets – 2,5 kg;
- Salt – 2 tsp;
- Sugar – 6 tbsp;
- Citric acid – 2 tsp;
- Vegetable oil – 150 ml.
Preparation of beet preparation:
Peeled cooked beets rub on large grater sharps. Put the beet mass in a frying pan, pour salt and granulated sugar to it.
Pour citric acid and vegetable oil to the beets, bring to a boil on medium heat.
From the moment of boiling cook beets for 15 minutes.
Sterilize lids and jars, put the beet mixture inside, fill the container completely.
Close the jars with lids and cover with a towel.
Such a beet preparation can be served separately or put in borscht. In addition, beets are great for salads.
