In our gastronomic culture, people prefer to consume meat rather than fish. This habit dates back to ancient times. Probably, hunting was a more productive occupation than fishing.
Nowadays, people choose meat because more dishes can be made from this product.
Many people also do not like fish because of the difficulty of cleaning or frying

However, it is possible to cook delicious fish. Then this dish will replace many meat viands.
Ingredients for baked fish:
- pollock fillet – 1500 g;
- sour cream – 2 tsp;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- egg – 2 pcs;
- mayonnaise – 300 g;
- pita – 6 pcs. 20×30 cm;
- dijon mustard – 2 tsp;
- onion – pcs;
- cheese – 200 g;
- parsley – bundle.
Preparation of baked fish:
Pollock fillet should be washed and dried well with paper towels. Cut the fish into small pieces, salt and add your favorite spices. Salt should be thoroughly rubbed into the fibers.
In a separate bowl, beat an egg, add mayonnaise, dijon mustard and mix well. Shred cheese on a fine grater, chop parsley, add to the mayonnaise sauce.
Cut onion and tomato into thin rings and put them on the pita. Water the vegetables with mayonnaise sauce. Put the fillet on the mayonnaise layer, smear it with sauce.
Wrap the stuffing of fish and vegetables in a pita envelope, transfer to a tray lined with parchment.
Repeat the same actions with other sheets of pita, fish and vegetables. The
second egg is also beaten in a separate bowl, mixed with sour cream. Smear this glaze on the surface of the envelopes.
Bake fish in pita bread in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30-35 minutes.
The result is a delicious baked fish in pita bread with vegetables. For a more intense flavor, we advise you to add spices to the fish – ground black pepper, red pepper.
