There are many different proverbs and sayings associated with fritters. This means that this dish has had a great impact on culture. Basically, fritters are associated with Slavic tribes. Probably, baking originated in the VIII-IX centuries. It
is not possible to establish the exact time of origin of fritters. It is only known that fritters are direct ancestors of
pancakes. Now the preparation of fritters has ceased to have a pagan background. These hearty mini pancakes are a good breakfast. Let’s try to cook puffy fritters on kefir.
Ingredients for fritters:
- kefir – 250 ml;
- egg – pcs;
- sugar – 3 tbsp;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- flour – 230 g;
- baking soda – ½ tsp.
Preparation of fritters:
In a bowl break the egg, pour salt and granulated sugar, beat with a whisk until the granules dissolve. Pour room temperature kefir into the egg mixture, stir.
Pour flour into the mixture, knead with a whisk to form a homogeneous dough without lumps. Add baking soda to the dough, mix thoroughly
. Note! After mixing the baking soda with the dough, do not mix the consistency anymore.
Heat 100 ml of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Without stirring, using a spoon scoop the dough, with the second spoon scoop the dough into the skillet. Fry the fritters on both sides until browned.
You can serve the fritters with sour cream or condensed milk.
The fritters are puffy and crispy for a snack or a morning meal.
