Salads are one of the official dishes of France. This country is the successor of the dish, which was previously prepared in ancient Greece, Egypt and Mesopotamia. The
French have modernized salads quite a lot. This poison has acquired a lot of interpretations. In the XVIII century there was a special position – the master of salads. This person combined different ingredients in the vegetable mass, trying to identify the most successful recipes.
Probably thanks to the masters of salads now we know a lot of these dishes with a wide range of products in the composition.
However, in addition to French salads there are many original snack dishes. For example, a salad from radishes “Thumbelina”.
Ingredients for salad “Thumbelina”:
- radish – 200 g;
- salt – ⅓ tsp;
- crab sticks – 200 g;
- dried garlic – ½ tsp;
- cabbage – 150 g;
- grainy mustard – tsp;
- boiled eggs – 4 pcs;
- sour cream – 2 tbsp;
- green onions – 20 g.
Preparation of salad “Thumbelina”:
Cut thin slices of radish, dice crab sticks. Cabbage and green onions should be finely shredded, and eggs chopped into small cubes.
In a bowl, mix radishes with crab sticks, green onions, cabbage and eggs. For the dressing, mix sour cream with grainy mustard and dried garlic.
Dress the mixture of vegetables, crab sticks and eggs with this sauce, salt and mix thoroughly.
The result is a delicious vitamin salad, which can be considered dietary. If there is no sour cream at home, it should be replaced with mayonnaise.
