Bread was the founder of the baking culture of all countries. With the advent of flour, people began to discover many new recipes for cooking various dishes. In the early days, peoples experimented with pies. Baking was quite primitive, yet very useful for acquiring skills for ancient cooks.

Now there are about a million types of baked goods in the world. Similar in ingredients, pies turn out completely different in the end.

For example, Viennese bagels taste different from the traditional Moscow ones. We will tell you how to bake Viennese bagels yourself.

Ingredients for Viennese bagels:

  • almonds – 120 g;
  • powdered sugar – 40 g;
  • butter – 200 g;
  • leavening agent – ½ tsp;
  • yolks – 2 pcs;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • flour – 260 g.

Preparation of Viennese bagels:

It is necessary to pour boiling water over the almonds and leave them to soak for 10 minutes. Next, peel the almonds and dry them on a towel

. Put the almonds in a dry frying pan and fry them on low heat on both sides until slightly visible golden color.

Grind the roasted nuts into fine crumbs with a blender or a special grater.

Put cold butter into the sifted flour, rub the ingredients into a creamy crumb with your hands.

Mix the ingredients and add the yolks

Bring the consistency of the dough to homogeneity, divide it into a couple of

lumps

and wrap each one in cling film.

Leave the lumps of dough in the refrigerator for 55-60 minutes. Next, heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius and cover the baking tray with parchment.

We divide the lump of dough into 4 parts. While we work with one of the parts, we put the rest back in the refrigerator. From the dough create a sausage, divide it into 6 equal parts.

From the resulting slices create bagels, which are carefully transferred to the baking tray. Repeat the same actions with the other three parts of the dough and with the second sausage.
