Homemade pies with potatoes. You’ve never made such a tender pastry before

As psychologists say, it is homemade pies that come to the mind of many people at the mention of the countryside. This wonderful type of pastry has become an integral part of gastronomic culture for a large number of people.

Pies are loved and respected in all northern countries. Probably the reason for the love for baked goods is their simplicity in preparation and satiety. Besides, pies are versatile, because they are prepared with different fillings

. Baking can play the role of a main course or a snack, or be a dessert.

We want to tell you about pies with potato filling – a popular dish among Belarusians

Ingredients for potato pies:

  • water – 150 ml;
  • onions – pcs;
  • milk – 150 ml;
  • potatoes – 6 pcs;
  • yeast – 2 tsp;
  • flour – 600 g;
  • sugar – tbsp;
  • vegetable oil – 40 ml;
  • salt – ½ tsp.

Preparation of potato pies:

In a bowl with flour pour salt, sugar and yeast. Pour warm milk and water to the loose products, add vegetable oil.

Knead with your hands an elastic and soft block, which should be covered with food film and left in the heat for an hour. Do not forget to grease the bottom of the container with vegetable oil. You can heat up the oven or multicooker, put the dough there.

Fry the chopped onion in vegetable oil, boil the peeled potatoes until soft. Add the fried onions to the potatoes, turn the mixture into mashed potatoes.

Grease your hands and the surface of the table with vegetable oil. Divide the kolobok into 4 equal parts, which we divide into 3-4 slices. Form small lumps out of the slices. Knead

with your hands into thick tortillas, where you put a spoonful of filling. Seal the mashed potatoes inside the dough, placing the patties seam side down.

Pour 200 ml of oil into a deep frying pan and heat it up. Place the patties in the hot oil and fry over medium heat until browned.
