A variety of products are used to make pies. We are used to meat or fish as a filling, but if you think about it, our ancestors had much fewer options.

In ancient times, it was hard to get meat, it was considered a luxury

However, we should not forget that the population had their own vegetable gardens, on which they were free to grow berries and fruits. These products became the main filling of pies. Such baked goods have a wonderful flavor, and also well satiates. Let’s try to cook a similar pie according to the recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 400 gr flour;
  • 300 gr of butter;
  • 6 eggs;
  • 300g butter;
  • 1 teaspoon vanillin;
  • 10 gr baking powder;
  • 300g sugar.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 4 apples;
  • 300 g of cherries;
  • Almond petals.

Preparation:

In a deep bowl, send 300 gr of butter and then pour in the sugar. Beat with a mixer for 2 minutes.

Add a pinch of salt to the mixture. Break one egg at a time and mix each time. When the product is added, beat well until homogeneous.

Pour in 400 grams of flour, not forgetting the leavening agent. Mix the dough

. Prepare the filling. Get rid of the pits of apples, cut the fruit into thin slices.

Transfer to a deep bowl and combine with the dough

Stir with a spatula. Add any berries, in our case cherries.

Take out a baking tray, cover with parchment and place a suitable-sized mold on it. Lay out the billet, distribute the mass evenly, filling the corners. Also, you can sprinkle with almond petals if desired.
