Pies have come quite a long way along the historical path of almost all world civilizations. If you consider various sources in the form of records and recipes, you can learn a lot of interesting things about ancient pies. In ancient Rome, pie dough was a kind of reservoir for carrying food. Later people decided not to waste flour and make the reservoir edible. A
large number of thinkers, philosophers, and playwrights wrote about pies in their works. They include Herodotus, Shakespeare, and Pushkin. For example, did you know that several characters from Shakespeare’s works were killed exactly with the help of pies. More precisely, people were baked alive in baked goods.
Probably not all pie lovers want to know such gruesome details. We will treat the dish more humanely, we will make pies with egg and onions.

- potatoes – 4 pcs;
- salt – 1.5 tsp;
- sugar – tbsp;
- butter – 40 g;
- yeast – 25 g;
- eggs – 5 pcs;
- flour – 550 g;
- green onion – bundle;
- vegetable oil – 20 ml.
Cooking pies with onions and eggs:
Potatoes need to be peeled from the peel, boiled until ready. Be sure to save 200 ml of potato broth for the recipe. After cooking, turn the vegetable itself into mashed potatoes.
Pour sugar, a teaspoon of salt, yeast into the mashed potatoes. Mix the loose components in the mashed potatoes, break an egg there. The rest of the eggs should be hard-boiled and cooled.
To the mashed potatoes sift flour, knead sticky soft dough. Pour vegetable oil to the lump and continue kneading for 6 minutes to form an elastic and pliable lump. Cover the dough with foil and wait for 50 minutes to increase.
Chop green onions quite finely, dice boiled and peeled eggs. Melt butter, pour into the mixture of eggs and onions. Don’t forget to salt the filling and mix thoroughly. Knead
the dough again, divide it into 16 equal portions. Roll out the formed rolls into small round cakes. Put the filling in the middle and pinch the edges of the dough.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
In a homemade deep fryer fry the patties on both sides until browned.
To remove excess fat from the baked goods, use a paper towel.
You can make delicious pies without the oven.
