Pumpkin that tastes better than pizza: the recipe that changed the way I think about fall vegetables forever

Pumpkin is one of the oldest vegetables that people have known about for quite some time. Even the Mayans knew how to grow and cook pumpkin. This people even had methods of treatment using pumpkin seeds, rinds and decoctions.

Many people think of pumpkin as a vegetable. However, from a botanical point of view, it is still a berry. The closest “relatives” of the pumpkin are zucchini and watermelons. They also belong to the pumpkin family. Unlike other representatives of the family, pumpkin is one of the largest crops in the world. Large pumpkins can weigh up to 1,000 kilograms.

For example, a pumpkin weighing 1,226 kg was grown in Italy.

A large number of dishes can be made from pumpkin. It is used as a casserole, put in salads and even make baked goods.

Let’s tell you how to make pizza from pumpkin

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin – 500 g;
  • Sweet pepper – 1 pc;
  • Tomatoes – 2 pcs;
  • Garlic – 2 cloves;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs;
  • Cheese – 40 g;
  • Ground black pepper – a pinch;
  • Salt;
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.

Preparation of pumpkin pizza:

Remove the insides of the sweet peppers and cut into small cubes.

Sauté

the peppers in a frying pan with vegetable oil for a couple of minutes.

Peel the pumpkin from seeds and peel, cut it into small cubes.
