The history of the Tarte Taten cake begins in France. There are several versions of its origin. According to one of them, the history of this dessert began in the hotel “Tatin”, the owners of which were sisters Stephanie and Caroline. One day they forgot about the apples they left on the stove, and they burned a little. To cover up their mistake, they decided to serve them as a dessert by placing the dough on top and baking it.
The dessert quickly became popular in France and beyond. It is distinguished by the simplicity of preparation and unusual taste, which is achieved thanks to the combination of puff pastry and caramelized fruit.
