Lazy dumplings are a simple and hearty dish that combines traditional elements of Russian and Eastern European cuisine. They got their name due to the fact that the process of cooking them is much simpler than regular pelmeni. Instead of molding each pelmeni individually, lazy dumplings are a faster and more convenient alternative, which makes them popular among housewives and home cooks.
The main difference between lazy dumplings and classic dumplings lies in the format of their preparation.
This significantly saves time and effort, which is especially relevant in our fast times, when many people are looking for an opportunity to prepare a delicious and nourishing dish with minimal expenses.
Ingredients:
- Onions – 2 pcs;
- Water – 5 tbsp;
- Stuffing – 700 g;
- Dill – 1/2 bundle;
- Eggs – 3 pcs;
- Flour – 195 g;
- Laurel leaf – 2 pcs;
- Allspice – 2 peas.
Preparation of lazy dumplings:
Chop finely onions and mix with a couple spoons of water, whip with an immersion blender until mushy. Put to the onion minced meat, chopped dill and salt, stir with your hands.
Form the minced meat into balls. For dumplings, pour flour into a separate container, mix eggs separately with 3 tablespoons of water.
Roll the balls in flour, and then in the egg mixture. Again dip the balls in flour after the egg mixture. Repeat the procedure several times. It is important that in the end the last layer was flour.
In the water we add a bay leaf, salt and peas of oregano pepper. Put the dumplings into the boiling water and cook until they float.
Then cook for another 3-4 minutes.
You get quick dumplings, which can also be sent to the freezer. This recipe is suitable for those who do not have time to cook real homemade dumplings.
