Soft and tender cabbage patties. Perfect dough

Pirozhki with cabbage is a traditional Russian dish that has occupied a special place in the culinary culture of this country for centuries. These small but nutritious products have a unique combination of dough and cabbage. They are able to satisfy even the most demanding gourmets. The

simplicity of preparation and availability of ingredients make cabbage pies popular not only at home, but also in canteens, cafes and restaurants.

Historically, cabbage pies were prepared as a hearty treat for peasants, allowing the use of available products. Cabbage, as one of the main components of the filling, not only has great flavor, but is also a source of vitamins and nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • flour – 600 g;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp;
  • dry yeast – 7 g;
  • salt – ½ tsp;
  • egg – 1 pc;
  • sour cream – 2 tbsp;
  • milk – 350 ml;
  • vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.

Ingredients for stuffing:

  • cabbage – 1 pc;
  • carrots – 1 pcs;
  • onion – 2 pcs;
  • salt – ½ tsp.

Preparation of cabbage patties:

Sift flour into a deep bowl, pour sugar and dry yeast into it, mix. Make a depression in the flour, pour salt, beat an egg, add sour cream and warm milk, knead the dough. Knead

the dough for 5 minutes, and then pour vegetable oil into it, gather into a lump

Leave the dough under a cling film for 1 hour in the warmth.

For the filling, chop finely onion and grate carrots on a coarse grater. Stew the onion in a frying pan with vegetable oil until transparent, then add the onion and stew for another 5 minutes.
