One of the oldest dishes is salad. This is not surprising, since it is prepared quite quickly. However, the salads of antiquity were very different from those of today.

First, the number of products in the salads of the past was minimal. Mostly people added herbs and onions to salads. These dishes were prepared for athletes to keep fit.

Secondly, in the salads of antiquity there were no dressings except for olive oil and salt. Mayonnaise was invented much later.

Let’s make a modern simple salad in 5 minutes.

Ingredients for the salad:

  • cucumber – pcs;
  • iceberg lettuce – 300 g;
  • boiled eggs – 3 pcs;
  • Adygea cheese – 50 g;
  • sea cocktail – 250 g;
  • salt – tsp;
  • ground black pepper – ⅓ tsp;
  • milk – 100 ml;
  • vegetable oil – 200 ml;
  • mustard – tsp;
  • garlic – clove;
  • lemon juice – 2 tbsp.

Preparation of the salad:

Cut into small cubes cucumbers, boiled eggs and Adygea cheese. Shinkuem finely iceberg lettuce, mix with cheese, eggs and cucumber in a bowl.

Choose the largest seafood from the sea cocktail, chop them finely and mix with the total mass. Put the sea cocktail in the salad, sprinkle with half a teaspoon of salt, pepper.

In the bowl of a blender, combine milk and vegetable oil, beat with an immersion blender for 15 seconds. Add mustard, salt, pressed garlic and lemon juice.

Whisk the sauce for another 25 seconds. Dress the salad with the dressing and mix.
