Lent is an important time for Christians, as it is a period of abstinence for the sake of their religious interests. During Lent, one should not eat meat, dairy products, as well as alcohol and sweets. That is, it is necessary to give up various food pleasures for a while. Fasting is considered a useful practice even for medical reasons. It helps to cleanse the body of harmful substances and lose excess weight.
However,
it
can be difficult to find fasting products in stores. This is especially true for baked goods. To make it lean and tasty is a difficult task.
Therefore, it is worth trying to bake a lean pie yourself.
Ingredients for a lean pie:
- flour – 300 g;
- leavening agent – tsp;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- cinnamon – ½ tsp;
- sugar – 200 g;
- orange juice – 200 g;
- vegetable oil – 80 g;
- walnuts – 100 g;
- raisins – 80 g;
- carrots – 150 g.
Preparation of lean pie:
In a bowl with flour pour baking powder, salt, cinnamon, mix. In a separate bowl pour sugar, mix with vegetable oil and orange juice.
Pour the juice mixture into the flour, knead thick dough
.
Crush the nuts into fine crumbs, pour them into the dough along with the raisins.
Grate the peeled carrots on a coarse grater, add
them
to the dough and mix.

Grease a baking mold with vegetable oil, pour the dough into it and distribute it evenly.

Bake the pie at 170 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

After cooking, sprinkle the pie with powdered sugar.
This is a good alternative for fasting, as there is literally no butter, eggs or milk in the pie.
