Pies are ruddy soft buns with a filling inside. Only if in buns it is usually a sweet filling, pies can be created with almost any filling. One of the most popular types of pies are considered potato pies. There are pies with potatoes and mushrooms in almost every culture, for example, Ossetian
pie. Nowadays it is quite difficult to find tasty pies with potatoes in stores and bakeries. A large number of tasteless pies, not soft and not juicy. Therefore, it is better to cook pies yourself at home. It does not take a lot of time, especially if you cook in a frying pan.
Ingredients of the dough for potato pies:
- Warm potato decoction – 400 ml;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Sugar – 1 tbsp;
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Yeast – 1 tsp;
- Flour – 600 g;
- Vegetable oil – 50 ml.
Ingredients for stuffing:
- Potatoes – 550 g;
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Mushrooms – 250 g;
- Salt – ½ tsp.
Preparation of potato patties:
Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until tender. Cut onions into small cubes and fry in a frying pan in vegetable oil.
Cut finely peeled mushrooms and add them to the onions

Fry until the moisture from the mushrooms comes out.
Pour salt, sugar and yeast into the warm water from under the potatoes, stir. Break an egg into the water, pour in flour and knead an elastic soft dough.
Grease the dough with vegetable oil and knead again. Cover the dough with food film and leave it for 10-15 minutes.
Mix fried mushrooms and onions with potatoes, mashed potato this mixture.
Knead the dough, divide
it into
10 equal lumps
.
Grease the table with vegetable oil, form thick cakes of lumps with your hands. Put stuffing into each flatbread and seal inside.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, place each patty in it seam side down.
Fry the patties on both sides until browned.
The potato patties are soft and tender.
