How often do you make cakes? Most likely cakes are bought in stores, or prepared only for holidays. In modern understanding, a cake is a sweet dessert with cream. However, in Soviet cooking, other variants of cakes were discovered, more nourishing.
For example, many people know the cake from liver, pancakes. Although there is also a potato cake. It is prepared from several layers of potato cakes. In preparation, such tortillas resemble draniki.
Such cakes are not served at a celebration. But, they can become a good lunch or dinner. Let’s tell you how to prepare a potato cake.
Ingredients for potato cake:
- onions – pcs;
- eggs – 3 pcs;
- potatoes – 4 pcs;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- flour – 4 tbsp;
- cherry tomatoes – 6 pieces;
- mozzarella – 150 g.
Preparation of potato cake:
Grate onion on a fine grater, mix with eggs. Grate the peeled potatoes on a coarse grater
. Put the potato mass into the egg mixture, salt and pepper to taste. Mix potatoes with onion and egg.
Pour flour into the mixture and knead a thick dough. Cut each cherry tomato in half.
Grate the tomatoes with a fine grater, remove the skin. Chop parsley finely to taste.
Grate cheese on a coarse grater, together with parsley pour into the tomato mass and mix.
In a frying pan in vegetable oil fry the potato dough tortillas for 2 minutes on each side.
Divide the stuffing into 4 parts, put each part on a separate pancake.
Assemble the pancakes with the filling into a cake. Bake the cake in the oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes.
It is better to serve this cake warm. It turns out to be a very hearty cake of potatoes and cheese.
