Potatoes are a vegetable without which it is now difficult to imagine national dishes of many countries. Fried potatoes have become the ambassadors of all bachelors.
Each country has its own potato dishes. For example, in India they prepare spicy fried potatoes Alu Dum. In Jordan, the potato dish is called Kibi. Each housewife cooks Kibi according to her own recipe, which has been passed down in her family from generation to generation.
In the U.S. potatoes are known in chips, and in fast food restaurants cook potato sticks in deep fryer. In the CIS countries, rustic potatoes are more familiar.
Let’s prepare French-style potatoes – “Boulangerie”.
Ingredients:
- potatoes;
- onions – 2 pcs;
- butter – 30 g;
- milk;
- salt;
- black pepper;
- dried garlic;
- sugar.
Preparation:
Quarter-ring onions and saute for 5 minutes in a skillet. Add black pepper, dried garlic, a pinch of sugar and salt to the onion and saute for another 5 minutes.
Cut the peeled potatoes into thin slices

Put ½ of the onion in the baking mold, and the potato plates on top of the onion – also part of the potato
plates. Put the onion on the potato layer, complete the layers with potato plates.
Salt and pepper the top layer.
Put butter on the potato layer and pour milk over it.
The liquid should not cover the top layer of potatoes
Bake the dish for an hour at 180 degrees.
If the onion is not fried, then it is put on the bottom of the mold, alternate with potatoes.
It turns out a simple French dish of potatoes. It is as budget-friendly as possible and is suitable for a light dinner or as a side dish.
