In part, the Napoleon cake owes its popularity to the famous French commander of the XIX century. A great number of stories and myths are connected with the cake and the Emperor of France. For example, according to one of the legends, the recipe for the cake was born because the commander and one of the nobles were cheating.

order to prevent Napoleon’s wife from guessing about his wife’s affair, the lovers ciphered with terms from the pastry book.
According to another legend, one of the cooks wanted to impress the emperor and prepared a delicious cake for him.
In reality, the cake was named after the pastry

who invented it. The dessert has nothing to do with Napoleon Bonaparte.
Ingredients for Napoleon cake crusts:
- Flour – 250 g;
- Butter – 125 g;
- Salt – a pinch;
- Vodka – 1 tbsp;
- Water – 90 ml.
Ingredients for the cream:
- Milk – 500 ml;
- Sugar – 150 g;
- Flour – 50 g;
- Egg -1 pc;
- Butter – 100 g;
- Vanillin – ½ g.
Preparation of Napoleon cake:
In the bowl of a blender pour flour and salt, add cold butter and whip the components. Pour the vodka and cold water into the dough, continue to whisk until lumps start to form.
Place the dough on food wrap, quickly gather into a lump and do not knead

Leave the dough in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.
At this time prepare the custard – in a saucepan beat the egg, pour sugar, vanillin and flour, mix thoroughly.

Bake the cakes in the oven at 210 degrees for 7 minutes. Beforehand, pierce the cakes with a knife or fork in different places.
While the cakes are cooling, beat the butter until fluffy. Gradually add the custard base to the butter, continue beating.
Smear each cake with cream, place in a pastry ring.
Shred the remaining cake. Smear the top and sides of the cake with cream, sprinkle with crumbs.
