What Georgian dish can a large number of people recognize? We are talking about khachapuri, the famous Georgian flatbread with cheese. The meaning of the word khachapuri comes from two Georgian simple words – khatcho and puri, meaning cottage cheese and bread. But khachapuri is made of cheese, not cottage cheese. Why then is there a mistake in the name?
The point is that cheese for khachapuri is similar in consistency to cottage cheese. That is why such similar names are used in the word.
Khachapuri is eaten in every Georgian family. It is one of the most important dishes at feasts. It is difficult to cook khachapuri without special knowledge, so it
is worth making lazy khachapuri, which everyone can handle.
Ingredients for lazy khachapuri:
- Kefir – 200 ml;
- Milk – 200 ml;
- Salt – ½ tsp. salt;
- Baking soda – ½ tsp;
- Eggs – 2 pcs;
- Vegetable oil – 30 ml;
- Cheese – 100 g;
- Parsley – 10 g;
- Flour – 200 g.
Preparation of lazy khachapuri:
Pour warm kefir into a bowl, pour salt and baking soda, mix. Break eggs into the mixture, pour in vegetable oil and mix again.
Grate cheese on a coarse grater, chop parsley finely

Put the cheese and parsley into the kefir, pour in the milk and mix.
Pour the flour into the kefir, knead a thick dough without lumps
.
In a skillet in a small amount of vegetable oil fry for a minute on each side on high heat flatbreads under a lid.
As a result, we have delicious simple lazy khachapuri.
They are noticeably different from the original, but at the same time can well become a substitute for the traditional Georgian dish.
