Pancakes are the main symbol of Maslenitsa. These flavorful and thin flatbreads are considered an important attribute of Slavic cuisine. Of course, pancakes were cooked not only by the Slavs. However, it is thanks to them that pancakes were able to be remembered all over the world. Pancake
days are accompanied by various traditions. As a rule, in Maslenitsa people constantly went to each other’s houses. Visited as brides, and mothers-in-law, parents, brothers, sisters and friends.
Now it is not customary to visit relatives so often. But the tradition of baking pancakes remains.
Ingredients for pancakes #1:
- milk – 385 g;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- flour – 160 g;
- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 2 tsp;
- baking soda – ½ tsp.
Preparation of pancakes #1:
In a bowl, beat eggs with salt and granulated sugar. Mix the egg mixture with half of the total amount of milk.
In a deep bowl sift flour, pour the milk with the egg mixture. Mix the components, breaking all the lumps in the dough.
Pour a spoonful of soda with vinegar, add to the dough. Pour the milk into the dough and continue kneading. In the last turn, pour vegetable oil into the dough.
Seal the dough under food foil and leave it warm for 15-20 minutes.
Thoroughly
heat a frying pan with a thin layer of vegetable oil.
Fry thin pancakes on both sides until golden.
Ingredients for pancakes #2:
- flour – 160 g;
- milk – 250 g;
- boiling water – 250 g;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 3 tsp;
- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp.
Preparation of pancakes #2:
Beat eggs with sugar and salt in a bowl until the grits dissolve, pour in milk. Pour the mixture into the flour, knead a homogeneous dough without lumps
. Pour boiling water into the dough, stir. Add vegetable oil to the mixture, leave the dough for 15 minutes under a food film.
It is required to heat a frying pan, pour in a ladle of dough

When the batter on top will grab, you can flip the pancake. Fry literally a minute pancake on the second side.
Ingredients for pancakes #3:
- flour – 160 g;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- kefir – 135 g;
- milk – 250 g;
- sugar – 3 tbsp. and 1 tsp;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- leavening agent – 1 tsp;
- cocoa – 1 tbsp.
Preparation of pancakes #3:
Beat eggs with tablespoons of sugar and salt for the batter, pour kefir into the mixture, stir. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, pour the egg mixture into the kefir, knead the dough without lumps.

Add vegetable oil to the dough, mix too.
Pour a teaspoon of sugar into a cup with cocoa, pour 30 ml of water, mix. Pour 2 ladles of pancake batter into the cocoa, mix and transfer to a pastry bag.
Make a pattern with the chocolate batter on a hot frying pan. After 5 seconds, pour in the regular batter and fry the pancake using the classic method.
In all three recipes, the pancakes turn out delicious in their own way. They can be served with sour cream, with jam, with condensed milk.
