Meat casserole is a dish that has a long history and exists in the cuisines of different nations of the world. It is difficult to determine exactly when and where meat casserole first appeared, but we can assume that it happened in ancient times. Probably, meat casseroles were popular in antiquity, as their preparation did not require complex ingredients or special skills.

For example, in Russian cuisine, meat casserole with potatoes and onions is popular, and in Italian cuisine – lasagna with minced meat and béchamel sauce. Today, meat casseroles remain a popular dish in many countries around the world. Let’s prepare a meat casserole with vegetables.
Ingredients:
- minced meat – 500 g;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- dry garlic – a pinch;
- egg – pcs;
- mix of spices hmeli-suneli – ⅓ tsp;
- breadcrumbs – 2 tbsp;
- onion – 2 pcs;
- carrots – pcs;
- sweet pepper – pcs;
- tomato paste – tbsp,
- sacebeli sauce – tsp;
- water – 200 ml;
- black pepper – a pinch;
- sugar – 2 tsp;
- parsley – bundle;
- potatoes – 5 pcs.
Preparation of meat casserole with vegetables:
Pour salt, dry garlic, spice mixture and breadcrumbs into the minced meat. Break an egg into the minced meat, chop a small onion.
Mix all the ingredients in the mince. Cut the second onion into feathers, fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil for a couple of minutes.
Grate carrots on a coarse grater, put them to the onion, fry together. Cut the peeled sweet pepper into small cubes and add to the carrots and onions.
Add tomato paste and sacebeli sauce to the mixture of vegetables, pour sugar and black pepper and mix. Pour water into the mixture, cover and braise for 7-10 minutes.
Chop the parsley and add to the vegetable sauce.
Cut the peeled potatoes into small plates and
form small balls of minced meat, which we put between two plates of potatoes. Lay the minced potatoes with the edge of the potato on the frying pan, enclose the “sandwiches” in a circle.
In the center of the circle of potatoes and minced meat we put stewed vegetables.
Leave the dish in the oven at 200 degrees for 40 minutes.
If desired, you can cover the casserole with foil.
You get an unusual casserole of vegetables and minced meat.
