Flatbreads are an important attribute of oriental cuisine. It is in Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt that you can find the most delicious flatbreads made of various types of flour.
In ancient times, this oriental pastry was cooked in heated sand. As people who have tasted sand cakes say, the taste cannot be compared to anything else.

This bread cannot be cut – it is eaten only by breaking it off. Throwing or refusing a flatbread is also not allowed – it is a sin.
We will tell you about one of the ways of making flatbread with stuffing.
Ingredients for flatbread:
- flour – 500 g;
- salt – 1.5 tsp;
- boiling water – 250 ml;
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp;
- minced meat – 800 g;
- ground black pepper – ½ tsp;
- parsley – bundle;
- green onion – a bunch;
- water – 50 ml;
- butter – 60 g;
- dill – a bunch;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- sour cream – 3 tbsp.
Preparation of tortillas:
Mix in flour with half a spoonful of salt, pour boiling water. With a spatula knead a soft dough, then give it the shape of a lump by hand. Grease the dough with vegetable oil, cover it with food film and leave it for 15 minutes.
Add salt and ground black pepper to the minced meat. Chop parsley and green onions, pour them into the meat mixture, pour water and mix thoroughly.
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts, form small rolls

Roll out the rolls into thin layers, where we put the stuffing. Gather the dough into a pouch, sealing the stuffing inside.
Place the tortilla seam side down and carefully roll it out, making it thinner.
In a hot frying pan, fry the tortillas on each side for 5-7 minutes on low heat.
Transfer the tortillas to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Divide the butter into 6 pieces, transfer a slice to each tortilla. Bake the tortillas at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
In the meantime, to prepare the sauce, chop the dill and press the garlic cloves through a press. Mix garlic and dill with sour cream, salt to taste.
This juicy flatbread goes well with sour cream sauce. For this recipe, we recommend using lamb or beef, as well as chicken meat.
