Delicious desserts are expensive. In the past, this phrase was more substantial, as sugar cost a lot of money. For this reason, many peasants could not afford sweet desserts.
Simple poor families used to make sweet pies as desserts

In summer, berries and fruits were often desserts. In very bad poor times, even leftovers were dessert.

Nowadays, there are plenty of such desserts in the store. But, it is better to prepare a homemade airy dessert.
Ingredients for homemade dessert:
- milk – 700 ml;
- sugar – 3 tbsp;
- cornstarch – 3 tablespoons;
- vanillin – a pinch;
- whipped cream – 300 ml;
- cookies;
- grated chocolate.
Preparation of homemade dessert:
In a saucepan pour 600 ml of milk, pour granulated sugar and starch, mix thoroughly with a whisk. Pour in the same vanilla, continue mixing the components.
On medium heat bring the milk to thickening, stirring constantly. Then send the cream to a bowl, cover with food film “in contact” and leave to cool.
Beat the cooled custard base, to it add a spoonful of whipped cream. With a mixer, whip the components together, and then pour the custard mixture into the container with whipped cream.
Stir the cream into the custard base until smooth. Dip the cookies in the remaining milk, lay them out in a 17×24 cm mold. Put ½ of the cream mixture on the cookie layer.
On the cream layer put the cookies soaked in milk. Similarly lay out the second part of the cream, sealing it with cookies. Sprinkle chocolate chips on the cream layer, leave the dessert in the refrigerator until it cools down.
