A new pita candy. It’s the fastest dessert I’ve ever made

Pita cake is an amazing and unusual dish that combines simplicity of preparation and extraordinary flavor. There are many ways to use pita, but creating a cake from this thin and nutritious bread has become a true cultural phenomenon. This dessert or appetizer, depending on the ingredients used, is a layered product where pita serves as a base and various fillings – both sweet and salty – form appetizing layers.

Ingredients:

  • milk – 1000 ml;
  • eggs – 4 pcs;
  • sugar – 200 g;
  • vanillin – a pinch;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • starch – 3 tbsp;
  • butter – 100 g;
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp;
  • pita – 3 sheets.

Cake preparation:

We put a sheet of pita on a baking tray, and then in the oven and wish it stiffer, and then in a bag we crumble it to crumbs. Divide the remaining two pita sheets in two, bake them lightly in the oven.

Pour 20-30 ml of water into a saucepan and then pour 800 ml of milk. Bring the milk almost to the boil, while in a bowl mix the eggs with the starch, vanilla and sugar.

Pour 200 ml of milk into the egg mixture and mix thoroughly

Pour a thin stream of egg mixture into the boiling milk and constantly stir the

mixture

with a whisk.

Next,

pour

the butter into the milk mixture and continue to stir until bubbles appear

Turn off the heat and continue to stir the mixture for another 1 minute.

Spread the cream on the first pita crust, spreading it over the entire surface. Place the next pita on the cream layer, similarly smear with cream.

The sides and the top of the cake are smeared with cream and sprinkled with prepared crumbs

. Leave the cake to soak for a couple of hours

You get a delicious and simple cake, similar to “Napoleon”. This is a great idea for those who do not want to bake cakes for the dessert.
