A recipe for cooking pollock from my childhood. I have been cooking like this for many years

Russian cuisine often uses stewing fish to get a special flavor. It is an excellent substitute for standard frying. It is worth choosing non-fatty fish, the bones of which soften in the cooking process. To preserve the biological value, it is better to gut the fish and cut it into portioned pieces.

Today we decided to cook pollock according to a very famous recipe, and it is known for the fact that even in schools in cooking classes girls were taught to cook fish in this way. Let’s try it!

Ingredients for cooking fish:

  • pollock – 1 kg;
  • onion – 2 pcs;
  • butter – 2 tbsp. liters;
  • vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons;
  • bay leaves;
  • salt, pepper.

Cooking fish:

Take pollock or other lean fish. Remove fins, tail and insides. Cut into portioned pieces.

Put the fish in a bowl, salt and pepper. Stir and leave for 10 minutes.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and then melt butter in it. Cut the onions into half rings, send them to the frying pan. Stew the onion for 7-8 minutes on low heat.

Add the fish to the onions, cover the pan with a lid and stew the dish for 10 minutes. Then turn the fish over, add black and oregano peas, as well as bay leaves. Cook for another 10 minutes.
