Salad with sprats is a dish that has become an integral part of Russian cuisine and deservedly enjoys popularity on holiday tables. Its uniqueness lies in the combination of simplicity and sophistication, which, nevertheless, is able to surprise even the most fastidious gourmets.

Salad with sprats boasts not only a pleasant taste, but also a beautiful, appetizing appearance, which makes it ideal for serving at anniversaries, New Year’s feasts and other celebrations.

Sprats, as the main ingredient of the salad, are canned fish, usually from the herring family, and have a characteristic aroma and taste, which perfectly complements the various components.

Let’s tell you how to prepare a salad with sprats

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes – 1 pc;
  • Sprats – 240 g;
  • Onion – 1 pc;
  • Sugar – 1 tsp;
  • Apple cider vinegar – 2 tsp;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs;
  • Carrots – 1 pc;
  • Cheese – 80 g;
  • Salt – a pinch;
  • Mayonnaise;
  • Green onion – a bunch;
  • Dill – a bunch.

Preparation of salad with sprats:

We cut small diced onions, mix with salt, sugar, vinegar and boiling water. Leave the onions to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Grease the bottom of the salad bowl with a drop of mayonnaise, rub boiled potatoes there, tamp the layer. Cover the potatoes with a mesh of mayonnaise, knead the sprats in a separate bowl.
