Salads are one of the oldest dishes that have been invented by mankind. Historians argue about when exactly the first salad recipes were created. Salad-like
dishes existed in Greece, the Roman Empire, and Egypt. Different nations probably prepared salads separately from each other.
Salads were mostly served on major holidays to fill the emperors’ table with viands. Nowadays, many appetizer salads serve the same function.
Let us give you a recipe for making an appetizer salad – Pink Flamingo.
Ingredients for Pink Flamingo Salad:
- boiled beets – 3 pcs;
- crab sticks – 200 g;
- cheese – 120 g;
- boiled eggs – 3 pcs;
- mayonnaise – tbsp;
- garlic – 3 cloves.
Preparation of salad “Pink Flamingo”:
Chop garlic cloves on small grating cutters, mix with mayonnaise. Peel beet and chop it on large grating cutters.
Grease a split ring with vegetable oil, put beet mass on the bottom, smear with a part of mayonnaise sauce. Grate cheese finely, put ½ of it as a second layer in the ring, also smear with mayonnaise.
Chop peeled boiled eggs on a coarse grater, put the next layer in the ring, brush with sauce.
Cut crab sticks into thin transverse plates, overlap them on the top of the salad.
Create a mayonnaise net on the layer of crab sticks, cover with cheese cap.
Remove the split ring from the salad.
As a result, you get a simple appetizer salad from a minimum of ingredients. You can decorate the salad with cilantro or parsley.
