There are quite a few different stories about the making of pies. There were even times in history when pies were banned. This happened in 1644 under Oliver Cromwell. In England then, people were trying to move away from pagan beliefs. The statesmen decided that pies were one of the main manifestations of paganism.

Probably, the ban on pies had another reason, more political. It was quite easy to poison an unwanted ruler with baked goods. In any case, the ban on pies did not last long. People could not live without their favorite pastries.

In our time, pies are not forbidden, so we can prepare a delicious apple pie.

Ingredients of the dough for apple pie:

  • Eggs – 2 pcs;
  • Sugar – 100 g;
  • Vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • Vegetable oil – 80 ml;
  • Butter – 50 g;
  • Flour – 350 g;
  • Baking powder – 8 g.

Ingredients for the cream:

  • Milk – 400 ml;
  • Egg yolk – 1 pc;
  • Cornstarch – 2 tbsp;
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp;
  • Vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • Cream 33% – 180 g;
  • Apple – 1 pc;
  • Lemon juice.

Preparation of apple pie:

Break eggs into a bowl, pour sugar and vanilla sugar, whisk until the grains of sand are dissolved. Add vegetable oil and melted butter to the mixture, mix.

Pour the flour and baking powder into the mixture, knead the dough

Knead the dough with your hands until elastic and soft. Place a small piece of dough in the freezer in cellophane.

Spread the rest of the dough

baking dish, spreading a thin layer on the bottom and sides. Leave the mold in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
