Pies were one of the main attributes of the festive table. The very word pie originally comes from the word “feast”, which means celebration.
As an invitation to a feast, as a rule, sweet pies were baked. In summer they made pies with fruits and berries, and in winter – with jam. Sweet pastries were prepared for weddings, birth of a child and other bright holidays.
Now pies are prepared not only on holidays, but also on weekdays

It is worth giving a recipe for cooking a quick pie with jam.
Ingredients for pie with jam:
- Eggs – 4 pcs;
- Salt – 1/3 tsp;
- Sugar – 330 g;
- Kefir – 300 g;
- Vegetable oil – 150 ml;
- Flour – 830 g;
- Baking powder – 2 tsp;
- Vanilla sugar – 2 tsp;
- Jam;
- Butter – 25 g.
Preparation of pie with jam:
In a bowl break eggs, pour salt and 300 grams of granulated sugar. Beat the components with a whisk until completely dissolved in the egg mass.
Pour kefir to the eggs, mix thoroughly. Add vegetable oil to the mixture, mix the ingredients again.
Sift 800 grams of flour into the mixture, dividing this process into two parts. Add
baking
powder and vanilla sugar to the flour in advance, knead the dough.
Grease the baking mold with vegetable oil, lay out ½ of the dough
. Spread the dough evenly on the bottom, put a layer of jam on it.
Put the second part of the dough into a pastry bag. Carefully create a layer of dough on the surface of the jam.
In a separate bowl combine the butter with the rest of the flour and sugar and grind into crumbs. Spread this crumble on top of the pastry.
Bake the cake at 180 degrees in the oven for 40 minutes.
The readiness of the pie can be checked with a wooden skewer, it should come out dry from the dough. For baking use any jam, for example, strawberry jam.
