Salads are an ancient dish that came to us from Greece. Salads began to be prepared at the time when the Olympic Games were just beginning to emerge. Probably, salads existed even earlier. But historically it is believed that the first mention of salads appeared only in ancient Greece.
Then salad was an expensive dish. The reason for the high price was the salad dressing, i.e. salt. The
fact is that in ancient times salt was expensive because of the difficulty in extracting this resource. Therefore, only people with great wealth could salt dishes. Although, the salad itself did not have in its composition chic ingredients – onions and greens.
Now salads have become much more complex and diverse. Although, too, can consist of a couple of three ingredients.
Ingredients for the salad:
- boiled meat – 300 g;
- cucumbers – 300 g;
- red onion – 1 pc;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 1 tsp;
- vinegar 6% – 1 tbsp;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- vegetable oil – 50 g;
- bay leaf;
- black pepper – 5 peas.
Preparation of the salad:
Cut onions into half-rings. Pour salt and sugar to the onions, pour vinegar and boiling water. Leave the onions to marinate for 5-10 minutes.
Cut small long bars of pickled or pickled cucumbers. Separate boiled meat into fibers, add to the cucumbers
. Drain the water from the pickled onions, put them to the meat and cucumbers. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil with bay leaf and black pepper.
Cut garlic cloves into small cubes

Put the garlic in the pan with the oil and fry until golden.
Pour the hot oil into the salad through a sieve

Leave the dish for a few hours so that all the ingredients soak up the garlic oil.
