Belyashi is a traditional dish of the Turkic peoples, famous for its delicious and hearty filling wrapped in tender dough. These round patties, usually made with meat, have a recognizable crispy crust and soft interior, making them a favorite treat for adults and children alike. Belyashi have been known since antiquity and have acquired many variations over time, depending on the region and family traditions.

The main ingredient of belyashi is dough, which can be prepared on different bases.

The filling most often consists of minced meat, but can include onions, spices and even vegetables. One of the popular options is belyashi with meat or chicken, but they can also be with mushrooms, potatoes or cottage cheese, which makes them a universal dish for any table.

Let’s tell about belyashi on kefir

Ingredients:

  • Kefir – 200 ml;
  • Salt – ½ tsp;
  • Sugar – ½ tsp;
  • Vegetable oil – 50 ml;
  • Soda – ½ tsp;
  • Flour – 300 g;
  • Stuffing – 200 g;
  • Onion – 1 pc.

Preparation of belyashi:

Mix kefir with salt, sugar and vegetable oil. Then pour the flour and baking soda into the mixture, stir and knead the dough. Knead

elastic and not sticky dough, grease it with vegetable oil. Leave the finished dough under cellophane for 10 minutes to rest.

For the stuffing, add the onion chopped in a blender to the minced meat. Salt and pepper the stuffing to taste, mix thoroughly.

Divide the dough into portions of 80 grams each. Leave the dough to rest for 10 minutes under cellophane, and then roll it out into small tortillas.

Put the stuffing in the center of each tortilla and seal inside as if in a bag.

Put the belyashi in a deep frying pan in hot vegetable oil.
