In the 7th century AD, Persia created one of the most popular desserts of our time – cookies. For a long time cookies were the sweetness of the East until they reached Europe in the 12th and 14th centuries. The
French and English quickly privatized cookies and made them their traditional dessert. As the industry grew and more pure sugar entered the market, cookies began to modernize. Sugar cookies became more creamy. There is a suggestion that the rest of the desserts came about because of cookies.
Let’s make homemade cookies ourselves.

- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp;
- powdered sugar – 100 g;
- egg – 1 pc;
- liquid vanilla – 1 tsp;
- cornstarch – 60 g;
- flour – 310 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- bitter cocoa – 1 tbsp.
Cookie preparation:
To soft butter pour in vegetable oil, pour powdered sugar and mix thoroughly.
Pour
liquid vanilla and beaten egg into the cream mixture, continue mixing.
Pour cornstarch and salt into the mixture, mix the components. Pour 300 grams of flour into the mixture and knead the dough.
Form an elastic and not sticky lump with your hands.
Divide the lump into 2 equal parts. Knead 10 grams of flour to one lump and cocoa to the second.
Roll out each block into a layer with a diameter of 11-12 cm. Make parallel grooves with a fork, and then cut out cookies in the dough with a mold.
The cookies are made of light and dark dough. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment.
The rest of the dough can be stapled together to make cookies with dark and light halves.
Bake the cookies at 170 degrees for 12 minutes.
After cooking, you can spread Nutella on part of the cookies and put the rest of the cookies on the filling.
Sprinkle the top of the dessert with coconut crumbs and you have a sweet shortbread cookie for tea.
