People knew about the miraculous properties of beets long before our era. However, at that time, the full range of all the benefits of the root vegetable was not used.
We learn more about the use of the vegetable thanks to various historical summaries of the Slavs – eastern and western. On the territory of our country in ancient times, starting from the X century, began to widely use beets in the economy.
After a short period of time, beets began to penetrate into the kitchens of Northern Europe. All beets grown until the XVI century were mostly wild. Only then were the Germans able to breed a fodder type of root vegetable.

Everyone can choose the one that best suits the characteristics. Let’s prepare a delicious salad from this vegetable.
Ingredients for beet salad:
- beets – 3 pcs;
- garlic – clove;
- onion – 2 pcs.;
- greens – a bundle;
- cucumber – 4 pcs;
- salt – a pinch;
- sugar – tsp;
- lemon juice – 2 tablespoons;
- vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons;
- mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons;
- cheese – 100 g;
- sour cream – tbsp.
Preparation of beet salad:
Boil for 40 minutes beets until ready. Cut onion into small cubes, fry in vegetable oil with sugar until golden.
Beetroot peeled and cut into thin not particularly long straws

Integrate fried onions into the beet mass.
Cut cucumbers finely, do the same with cheese. Add these components to the beets. Shinkuem in the dust of greens, pour into the salad.
Press the garlic clove through a press into the sour cream. Put salt, lemon juice and mayonnaise to the sour cream, mix well.
Dress the salad with this sauce, mix the ingredients.
The result is a very interesting cheese salad with beets. This is a great option for a snack in 10 minutes.
