Pies are such a variety of baked goods that they fall into different categories. There are meat pies – they are baked to satisfy hunger, for lunch or dinner. There are fish pies – they are baked, usually during Lent. There are also vegetable pies, which serve as an additional meal – an afternoon snack or a snack.
In addition, there are dessert pastries – these are pies with berries and fruits. Such a strong variety suggests that these flour products are universal. It is worth preparing a simple recipe for meat pies – the most popular in the world.
Ingredients for meat pies:
- sausages – 5 pcs;
- cheese – 100 g;
- kefir – 300 ml;
- egg – pcs;
- salt – tsp;
- sugar – tbsp;
- vegetable oil – tbsp;
- baking soda – ½ tsp;
- flour – 400 g.
Preparation of meat pies:
Chop sausages and cheese on large chisels of the grater. In a separate bowl, mix with kefir egg, salt, granulated sugar, vegetable oil and soda.
Sift flour into the kefir, knead first with a spatula, then with your hands not sticky and elastic dough. Divide the dough into 16 equal lumps, which we roll into small tortillas.
In each tortilla put the filling of cheese and sausages, seal inside the dough. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the patties seam side down over medium heat.
As soon as the patties are golden on one side, turn them over to the other side and fry them as well.
The result is soft patties with an unusual filling inside. Instead of sausages, you can use ham or sausage for this recipe.
