Pies are considered part of the diet of many nations. It is a very affordable type of baked goods that everyone can make. Potatoes can become part of baked goods, as they contain starch. However, it is worth knowing some rules for the correct preparation of pirozhki
. For example, pirozhki are cooked on products at room temperature. So baking always turns out soft and airy.
As a filling for potato dough, both minced meat and cabbage are suitable. It is worth preparing potato patties with cabbage filling.
Ingredients for potato patties:
- Potatoes – 5 pcs;
- Butter – 20 g;
- Salt – 1.5 tsp;
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Parsley – 1 bundle;
- Flour – 220 g;
- Vegetable oil – 30 ml;
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Carrots – 1 pc;
- Cabbage – 350 g;
- Water – 30 ml.
Preparation of potato patties:
Boil the peeled potatoes until ready, mix them with butter and a spoonful of salt, turn them into mashed potatoes.
Chop parsley finely
. Break an egg into the mashed potatoes, pour the parsley and mix again. Pour the flour and baking powder into the mashed potatoes and knead a soft elastic dough
. Cover the dough with cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
In the
meantime, dice onions into small cubes
and fry them in a frying pan in vegetable oil until soft. Grate the peeled carrots on a grater, put them in the onions.
Shinkle cabbage finely, add to the onions and carrots, mix. Salt and pepper cabbage to taste, pour in water and stew under a lid over low heat until ready.
Knead the dough and divide it into 4 equal parts, shape the rolls. Roll the rolls into tortillas, divide each into two parts.
Spoon a spoonful of stuffing onto ½ of the half of the tortilla.
Cover the other half with the filling and seal.
Use a fork or fingers to seal the edges of the dough

Fry the patties in a frying pan with vegetable oil until golden on both sides.
