Draniki is a traditional dish of Belarusian cuisine. As a rule, they are made of potatoes. However, there is also a way of making draniki from other vegetables. For example, there are draaniki made of cabbage. They can be even healthier than potato ones, since the cabbage version has a lower starch content.
At the same time, cabbage draniki retain a certain amount of useful substances and fiber. Therefore, the dish can even be called dietary.
If you want to make draaniki healthier, you should bake them, not fry them in oil.
Let’s prepare cabbage pancakes according to the classic recipe.
Ingredients:
- Cabbage – pcs;
- Onions – 2 pieces;
- Eggs – 2 pcs;
- Salt – a pinch;
- Garlic – 1 clove;
- Flour – 4 tbsp.
Preparation:
Not particularly finely chop cabbage, put it in a pot, pour water and cook for 10 minutes under a lid. Chop finely chopped onion, fry in a frying pan in vegetable oil until golden color.
Squeeze slightly cooled cabbage from excess liquid. Break eggs, add onion, salt and pepper to the cabbage.
Grate garlic on a fine grater and put it in the cabbage, pour flour into the same place, knead the mass for the pancakes.
Form small tortillas with your hands and put them in a frying pan with heated oil.
Fry on both sides until browned.
You get tasty cabbage pancakes. They can be served with sour cream.
