It seems that cookies are a dessert that came into cooking relatively recently. In the past, people were not interested in sweets, especially peasants. However, it turns out that cookies existed in the 7th century A.D.
For the first time, the Persians began to bake cookies. The people had a valuable resource – sugar. For this reason, the confectionery business developed quite well in Persia.
In the XIV century, cookies penetrated the European holiday tables.
Now this simple dessert can afford everyone. Let’s tell about the recipe for cheese cookies.
Ingredients for cheese cookies:
- water – 400 ml;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- salt – tsp;
- flour – 550 g;
- butter – 125 g;
- feta cheese.
Preparation of cheese cookies:
Remove the yolk from one egg, put it in a bowl with water. Salt the water and mix the ingredients thoroughly. Pour flour into the bowl with water, knead first with a spatula, then with your hands to form an elastic dough.
Divide the dough into two equal parts, cover with cellophane and leave for 5 minutes. Roll out one of the kolobas into a thin round with a rolling pin. Brush

with butter and fold the edges inwards.
Brush the resulting square with butter and fold it in two.
Leave the dough squares under cellophane in the refrigerator for an hour. Then roll out each one into a thin layer of square shape. The
big square is divided into 16 small ones, where we put feta cheese. One tablespoon per square of dough.
Connect the opposite edges of the square in the center, put the resulting cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment.
Grease each cookie with a mixture of egg yolk and milk.
Bake the cookies at 200 degrees in the oven until golden.
It turns out simple puff pastry cookies with cheese. If you want to make it sweet, you can add jam or honey to the cheese.
