Chicken in magic vegetable sauce. This recipe is delicious

Chakhokhbili is a traditional Georgian dish, which is a stew of poultry (mostly chicken) with the addition of vegetables, spices and herbs.

Different regions of Georgia have their own variations of chakhokhbili, which may differ in the composition of ingredients and method of cooking.

However, the basic principles remain the same: using chicken or other poultry as a base, adding a large amount of vegetables and spices, and stewing the dish until all ingredients are ready.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken meat – 1.2 kg;
  • Onions – ½ kg;
  • Sweet paprika – 1 tsp;
  • Hmeli Suneli – 3/4 tsp;
  • Dried garlic – ½ tsp;
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp;
  • Tomatoes – ½ kg;
  • Sweet pepper – 1 pc;
  • Tomato paste – 1 tbsp;
  • Cilantro – 50 g;
  • Parsley – 50 g.

Preparation of Chakhokhbili:

In a skillet on hot vegetable oil, put the chicken meat. As soon as the chicken is browned, turn the pieces to the other side. Chop

finely onions. Put the fried chicken on a plate, in the used oil fry the onion until transparent.

Pour paprika, hopli-suneli, dry garlic, black pepper to the onion, mix. Cut tomato and sweet pepper into small slices, add tomato paste to the onions, mix.

Stew the vegetables under a lid for 7 minutes and then salt to taste

Chop cilantro and parsley, add to the stewed vegetables, cook under a lid for a couple more minutes.

Spoon a couple of spoonfuls of the vegetable mixture onto a plate. Put the chicken in the rest of the vegetable sauce in the pan.
