Vatrushki is a traditional type of pastry that has an ancient history and comes from Russian cuisine. It is believed that vatrushki appeared in ancient Russia and were popular among the peasant population. The

In those times they were made of simple dough with a filling of cottage cheese or mashed potatoes. Vatrushki were baked in the oven and served hot. They were a favorite delicacy of children and adults.
Over time, vatrushki became more diverse. There were new recipes with different fillings, such as jam, jam, poppy seeds, raisins and others. Let’s cook not potato, but cottage cheese watrushki.
Ingredients:
- cottage cheese – 220 g;
- egg – 1 pc;
- protein – pcs;
- flour – 130 g;
- sugar – 1 tbsp;
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp;
- leavening agent – 1 tsp;
- salt – a pinch;
- vanillin – a pinch.
Ingredients for the filling:
- cottage cheese – 140 g;
- egg yolk – 1 pc;
- sugar – 1 tbsp;
- berries.
Preparation of vatrushki:
In a bowl with cottage cheese beat the egg, add the egg white, sugar, salt and vanillin, mix. Pour ½ of the flour into the mixture, knead the dough.
Pour the rest of the flour into the mixture, knead a soft and not sticky dough. Leave the dough under a towel while you mix the cottage cheese with the egg yolk and sugar for the filling.
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts, form balls. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment and press down with a glass.
Put the filling into the holes and decorate the patouches with berries

Bake the puff pastry at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
After cooking vatrushki can be sprinkled with powdered sugar. You will get sweet, soft vatrushki with berries.
