Surprisingly, often not everyone knows what halushki are. This is a flour addition to soups, which makes them much more nourishing.
For the first time halushki were invented in Ukrainian cuisine

To this day, the most proper soup there is considered to be the one made with halushki. People liked the dish so much that halushki are even mentioned in literature. For example, halushki can be seen in the work “Hussar” by Pushkin and the story “The Night Before Christmas” by Gogol.
Let’s create a soup with halushki at home.
Ingredients for soup with galushki:
- chicken wings – 2 pcs;
- broth – 300 g;
- water – 1, 2 liters;
- onion – 1 pc;
- carrots – 1 pc;
- oregano pepper – 2 peas;
- potatoes – 4 pcs.
Ingredients for the dough:
- egg – pcs;
- salt – a pinch;
- water – 1 tsp;
- vegetable oil – 1 tsp;
- flour – 60 g.
Ingredients for the spread:
- butter – 1 tsp;
- garlic – 1 clove;
- salt – a pinch;
- ground black pepper – a pinch;
- dill – ½ tsp.
Preparation of soup with galushki:
Boil the chicken wings to a boil, skim off the foam from the surface. Cut quarter rings onion, chop carrots on a coarse grater. We put onions and carrots in the pot to the broth
. Put in the broth oregano pepper, salt and leave to cook for 40 minutes under a lid. Then take the chicken out of the soup
. Cut the peeled potatoes and rinse in water, put them in the soup and cook until ready. Mix salt, vegetable oil and water in a bowl with egg and flour,
then knead elastic and soft dough first with a spatula and then with your hands. Put the dough in
clingfilm
and
leave
to rest.
To grease the dumplings, combine with butter the pressed garlic cloves, salt, ground black pepper and dill.
Mix the ingredients and leave them warm for a while.
Separate the meat from the bones on the wings

Roll out the dough into a rectangular layer, grease with butter not reaching 2 cm to the edges.
Roll the dough into a roll, seal all the edges and cut into small rolls.
Put the meat into the soup, leave the broth to boil until it comes to an active boil. Put into the boiling soup and put the galushki. Salt the soup, pepper and add a bay leaf, cover with a lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
After cooking, the soup should be allowed to stand for 15 minutes under the lid. You get a hearty and flavorful soup with halushki.
