Beautiful and lush pies always attract attention, whether they are on the counter of the bakery or at home on the table. Such an ingenious dish consisting of baked goods with a hearty filling was invented long ago – in ancient Greece. However, the potential of pies could only fully reveal the Western Slavs.
Slavic tribes cooked pies during the harvest period. This allowed them to satiate themselves before a hard day’s work. There were also pies for rituals. So the tribes showed gratitude before the gods for the harvest.
We want to share a recipe for sweet berry pie, which can be prepared not only in the fall.
Ingredients for berry pie:
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- sugar – 210 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- berries – 200 g;
- vanilla sugar – 3 g;
- leavening agent – 10 g;
- sour cream – 200 g;
- flour – 260 g;
- butter – 100 g.
Preparation of berry pie:
We beat in a bowl eggs with 200 grams of classic sugar, with vanilla sugar and salt.
In this mixture we pour sour cream and melted butter, mix the components. Combine the flour with baking powder, sift into the sour cream mixture in batches.
After kneading the dough, put it in a mold (22 cm in diameter) covered with parchment.
Level the surface of the dough, lay the berries on it.
Sprinkle the berry tops with sugar. Bake the pie at 180 degrees in the oven for 40 minutes.
After cooking, it is worth slightly cooling the pie in the form.
For beauty and sweetness you can sprinkle the top of the pie with powdered sugar.
