Medovik is a cake that has maintained its leading position in the top of the best confectionery for more than 100 years! This cake has long been considered a royal dessert. Although, initially, it could not exist at all. The
fact is that the Empress, for whom Medovik was created, did not like honey. For this reason, the court confectioners never prepared honey desserts.
This preference of the Empress forgot to tell the new French confectioner. He prepared a cake based on honey. Surprisingly, the empress liked the cake so much that it became one of the key dishes of the court table.
Let’s tell you how to prepare a homemade honey

Ingredients for the cakes:
- eggs – 4 pcs;
- sugar – 200 g;
- honey – 100 g;
- butter – 100 g;
- baking soda – 1 tsp;
- salt – a pinch;
- flour – 300 g.
Ingredients for the cream:
- cream 30% – 300 ml;
- condensed milk – 100 ml.
Cooking Medovik:
In a saucepan melt honey, mix with soda. Cook the honey until it turns caramel color.
Put butter to the honey, melt and stir. In a separate bowl beat the eggs with sugar and salt, add the honey mixture.
Pour the flour into the honey

Cover a baking tray with parchment. Divide the dough into two equal parts, pour each part onto the

tray and distribute evenly.
Bake a couple of cakes at 180 degrees for 5-6 minutes. To prepare the cream, whip the cream with a mixer with condensed milk until it becomes a cream.
Remove the uneven edges of the cakes and divide them in two. Smear each cake with cream and assemble the cake.
Smear the sides and top of the honey cake with cream. Chop
the rest of the cakes in a blender and sprinkle on the top and sides.
Leave the cake for at least a couple of hours in the refrigerator
