Lasagna is one of the most popular Italian dishes. Nowadays it is hard to imagine a tasty hearty dinner without lasagna, especially in European countries. The
ancestor of lasagna was a Roman lean flatbread. The Romans cut this flatbread into thin layers, which were covered with stuffing. However, in the poor families of Rome, the stuffing was not particularly nourishing. Now it is customary to add cheeses and meat, vegetables and even some fruits to lasagna.
We will tell you how you can prepare lasagna from pita.
Ingredients for lasagna:
- pita – 3 pcs;
- minced meat – kg;
- onion – 200 g;
- garlic – 6 cloves;
- sweet pepper – 2 pcs;
- celery – stalk;
- tomato sauce – 200 g;
- mozzarella cheese – 300 g;
- salt – ½ tsp.
Ingredients for the béchamel sauce:
- milk – 500 ml;
- butter – 30 g;
- flour – 30 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- nutmeg – a pinch.
Preparation of lasagna:
Dice the onion into small cubes, pass garlic cloves through the press to it. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat it up and add garlic and onion. Fry the onions for a couple of minutes, then add the minced meat and cook the stuffing for 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
Dice the peeled sweet pepper and celery into small cubes and add them to the stuffing
.
Season the stuffing with salt, stir and cook for 4 minutes.
Add the tomato sauce to the stuffing, mix with the rest of the ingredients and continue to stew for a couple of minutes.
To prepare the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan.
Add flour to the butter and cook for 2 minutes. Gradually pour milk into the mixture of flour and butter, stir with a whisk. Cook the sauce for 4 minutes and then remove from the heat. Salt and add the nutmeg to the sauce.
Grate the cheese. Put minced meat and vegetables on a pita sheet, sprinkle with cheese and wrap into a roll.
Cut the roll into small pieces.
Grease a baking mold with béchamel sauce, put pita pieces with stuffing on the bottom.
Sprinkle the rolls with sauce, cover with cheese cap.
Bake lasagna at 200 degrees in the oven for 20 minutes.
Instead of tomato paste, you can add tomatoes in their own juice to the stuffing.
It turns out to be an excellent dish, which is suitable for dinner.
