Delicious layered salad “French”. Tender dish for a festive table: simple recipe

Salad is a dish that came to us from ancient Rome and Greece. The original meaning of the word salad is a savory dish. The fact is that salads were prepared from a minimum of components. Mostly greens and onions were added to salads. Accordingly, to give flavor to the salad, it was necessary to add some kind of dressing. As a dressing was salt and olive oil.

Over time, salads began to add more vegetables. But, for a long time cooks did not dare to “spoil” the dish with meat, fish and other ingredients. Only in the XVIII century began full-fledged experiments with salads.

Let’s tell you how to prepare a simple salad “French”.

Ingredients:

  • onion – 1 pc;
  • salt – ½ tsp;
  • sugar – tsp;
  • vinegar – 2 tbsp;
  • water – 100 ml;
  • ham – 200 g;
  • cheese – 200 g;
  • sweet and sour apple – pcs;
  • carrot – pcs;
  • egg – 3 pcs;
  • mayonnaise.

Preparation:

Cut into small cubes onions, in a bowl salt it, sprinkle with sugar. Pour vinegar and water to the onions, mix and leave to marinate for 20 minutes.

Cut ham into thin small bars, grate cheese and carrots

Boil hard-boiled eggs, cool, peel and also grate them finely.

On a flat plate, place ½ of the onions, ½ of the ham and then ½ of the eggs in layers. Smear the layer between the ham and the eggs with mayonnaise.

Smear the egg layer with mayonnaise and cover with cheese. On the cheese layer put the carrot layer, smear with mayonnaise.

Grate a peeled apple on a coarse grater. Put ½ of the apple on the carrot layer. Cover the apple layer with mayonnaise, put ham on it.
