Salads with beets come in a variety, although some people are used to eating only Herring under Shuba and Vinegret. These are classic beet salads, everyone prepares them. However, Shuba, for example, in religious fasts it is forbidden to consume. It contains eggs, fish and mayonnaise, which is not allowed to eat in Lent.
At the same time, you still want to eat delicious food. In such cases, it is worth studying recipes specifically for religious fasts. In general, in such recipes, vegetables prevail. Beets in this case become the main ingredient with many useful properties.
Let’s prepare together a fasting beet salad.
Ingredients for beet salad:
- marinated cherry tomatoes 4 pcs;
- lean mayonnaise;
- green peas – 3 tbsp;
- purple basil – a bunch;
- garlic – clove;
- ground black pepper – a pinch;
- green onion – bundle;
- cooked beets – 2 pcs;
- pomegranate grains.
Preparation of beet salad:
Peel the marinated tomatoes from the skin and put them in a separate bowl. Chop finely purple basil. Mix the green peas with the basil.
Chop the garlic finely, pressing down with a knife to make a mush. Put the garlic pulp into the salad. Chop green onions, cut cherry tomatoes into two or three pieces and put them in the salad.
Pepper the salad and mix the ingredients. Peel cooked beets, cut into small cubes, put them in the salad. Fill the salad with mayonnaise, mix.
Sprinkle the salad with pomegranate grains to taste.
You can also decorate the salad with beet, having cut thin bars beforehand.
